Phil provides investment consulting services to institutions including health care organizations, community foundations, local governments, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. He has worked with some of the largest asset pools in the region and has developed a comprehensive understanding of risk management and has extensive exposure to multiple asset classes. Prior to joining Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James in 2016, Phil was a longtime financial advisor at Alex. Brown & Sons, joining in 1990, where he gained valuable financial industry knowledge.

Phil is a long time resident of Winston-Salem and earned his bachelor’s in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Winston-Salem with his wife, Virginia, and together they have two children. Phil volunteers with various homeless initiatives in his community and served as a board member for Centenary United Methodist Church, Summit School and Habitat for Humanity. He is currently a board member of Old Town Club. In his spare time, Phil enjoys fly fishing, gardening, golf and playing guitar.
