Mac takes all the time necessary to listen, interpret and understand what his clients and prospects really want. In his years of experience, he has seen that with time and open dialogue, their real concerns eventually become clearer.

“I feel it is my job to understand them, their lives, and then help them build solutions to fit their needs,” Mac says. “I think people can, through proper planning, create a simpler, enjoyable life for themselves and their families.”

Mac is a graduate of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geology. He has an MBA from Texas A&M University- Commerce.

His financial services career started at Salomon Smith Barney in 1995 and Deutsche Bank Securities in 2007. Mac joined Raymond James in 2016. He became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant in 2010.

“I like taking on a variety of financial issues and working through them with a well-thought-out and deliberate plan. Financial planning is a great place to channel my energy,” Mac says.

Born to a multigenerational ranching family in Uvalde, Texas, Mac has lived in Dallas since 1990 with his wife, Phebe Phillips, who has run a successful children’s products and literature business for almost 30 years.

Mac enjoys the traditional Navajo style of silversmithing, as well as biking, yoga, road-tripping across America and hiking. He is also a 200-hour certified yoga instructor.
